The International Designs Woodworking Corp. or known as
Idewood Corp. is running for 35 years now and that and was founded by Per Stangegaard.
That accidentally loves wood products because his family whom especially is
grandfather that makes furniture. Eventually started doing business here in the
Philippines in 1983 because he thinks that what our country have is very
precious and just sharing his knowledge to us. Using the Philippines wood made
him think it is extremely the finest because of its strength and uniqueness.
Having an expert and trusted carpenter/furniture maker gives him the assurance
that everything will run smoothly. Impressively have a wonderful experience
overseas and in Europe.
Idewood, as wood furniture producer they need a very
creative designer that will cope with the client’s demands or they ask for
suggestions for their previous designs to change it. Some clients want
customized furniture depending to their style and requirement. The discussion
will always fall down to what wood you’ll going use in your furniture design.
Just for your information, we keep our conversation confidential regarding to
your designs. Like for example the benches that we do, the bench components –
teak and mahogany, we also offer plywood and natural wood veneer.

There are numerous kinds of wood species in
the Philippines to choose from. Customized wood as the clients prefer and here
are some the following woods that we offer:
- · Yakal wood – a hard and golden mahogany type of wood and best use for outdoor furniture
- · Mahogany wood – Philippine mahogany is the best type in Asia, species growing in Luzon is commonly hard and darker but in Mindanao it’s lighter and milder.
- · Rosewood – It is beautiful dark and flamy wood. Used in making boats by the locals and eventually for interior and furniture.

The others are teak wood, acacia wood, oak wood, coconut
wood, santol wood and many more. They also using other materials like leathers,
marbles and porcelain and some of the designs are copied with the wood designs
so there are lot of variety to choose from. Product prototyping is what they
consider to the clients.
